(Made by the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation under section 47(1) of the Rabies Ordinance (Cap. 421))

1. Commencement
This Notice comes into operation on 1 August 2025.
2. Exemption for keepers of certain legally imported dogs
Subsection (2) applies to a dog that—
is imported into Hong Kong under and in accordance with a permit issued under section 12 of the Rabies Regulation (Cap. 421 sub. leg. A) (Cap. 421A) on or after the commencement date* of this Notice;
has been vaccinated against rabies; and
is implanted with the device specified in the Schedule.
The keeper of the dog is exempt from the application of section 28(2) of Cap. 421A in relation to the dog.
Schedule — Specified Device
[s. 2]A transponder that conforms to the International Standards ISO 11784 and ISO 11785 published by the International Organization for Standardization, and when activated by an electromagnetic radio frequency signal, responds with a coded signal revealing a unique numeric identification code in the following format—
