Telecommunications (Possession and Export of Radiocommunications Apparatus by Visitors) (Exemption) Order

A person who is given permission to land in Hong Kong as a visitor under the Immigration Ordinance (Cap. 115) is exempted from the requirement to hold a licence under section 8(1)(b) of the Ordinance in respect of possession of any radiocommunications apparatus purchased by him in Hong Kong for 30 days after the date of purchase, subject to the following conditions— (36 of 2000 s. 28)
he shall produce for inspection a receipt, certificate or other document as proof of the date of purchase of the apparatus on demand by the Authority or any public officer authorized in that behalf by the Authority; and
he shall not within 30 days after the date of purchase use or permit the use of the apparatus in Hong Kong or on board a ship or aircraft that is registered in Hong Kong.
A person who is given permission to land in Hong Kong as a visitor under the Immigration Ordinance (Cap. 115) is exempted from the requirement to hold a permit or a licence under section 9 of the Ordinance in respect of export of any radiocommunications apparatus purchased by him in Hong Kong, subject to the following conditions— (36 of 2000 s. 28)
he shall produce for inspection a receipt, certificate or other document as proof of the date of purchase of the apparatus on demand by the Authority or any public officer authorized in that behalf by the Authority;
he shall export the apparatus within 30 days after the date of purchase; and
he has not within 30 days after the date of purchase used or permitted the use of the apparatus in Hong Kong or on board a ship or aircraft that is registered in Hong Kong.
