1. Citation
This order may be cited as the Protected Places (Safety) (Authorized Guards) Order.
2. Authorized guards in respect of protected places under control of Senior Army Officer of Hong Kong Garrison
In respect of any protected place under the control of the Senior Army Officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, a member of the Hong Kong Garrison is authorized to act as an authorized guard.
3. Authorized guards in respect of protected places under control of Senior Navy Officer of Hong Kong Garrison
In respect of any protected place under the control of the Senior Navy Officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, a member of the Hong Kong Garrison is authorized to act as an authorized guard.
4. Authorized guards in respect of protected places under control of Senior Air Officer of Hong Kong Garrison
In respect of any protected place under the control of the Senior Air Officer of the Hong Kong Garrison, a member of the Hong Kong Garrison is authorized to act as an authorized guard.
5. Authorized guards in respect of protected places under control of Officer-in-Charge, Composite Signals Organization Station
In respect of any protected place under the control of the Officer-in-Charge, Composite Signals Organization Station, the following persons, that is to say, any member of the Composite Signals Organization Police, Hong Kong, are hereby authorized to act as authorized guards.
6. Authorized guards in respect of protected places specified by contract
In respect of any protected place to which guards are to be assigned by a company pursuant to a contract in writing between the Government and the company, persons who are—
holders of permits under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance (Cap. 460) that are valid for guarding any property at that place or preventing or detecting the occurrence of any offence at that place, or both; (97 of 1994 s. 34)
employed by the company; and
assigned by the company to guard that protected place,
are hereby authorized to act as authorized guards.
7. Authorized guards in respect of Central Military Dock
In respect of the Central Military Dock, as specified in item 22 of the Schedule to the Protected Places Order (Cap. 260 sub. leg. A), persons who are—
holders of permits under the Security and Guarding Services Ordinance (Cap. 460) that are valid for guarding any property at the Dock or preventing or detecting the occurrence of any offence at the Dock, or both;
employed by a company engaged by the Hong Kong Garrison; and
assigned by the Hong Kong Garrison, or the company, to guard the Dock,
are authorized to act as authorized guards.
