Maximum Scale of Election Expenses (District Boards) Order 1994

In this Order—
by-election (補選) and ordinary election (一般選舉) have the meanings assigned to them in the Electoral Provisions Ordinance (Cap. 367); relevant date (有關日期) means the date of the coming into operation of the Specification; the Specification (指明) means the District Boards (Date of Establishment) Specification 1994 (Cap. 366 sub. leg. J).For the purposes of section 13(1) of the Ordinance*, the maximum scale of election expenses which may be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate in respect of—
the ordinary election of persons to act as elected members of the District Boards established under the Specification; or
any by-election to fill a vacancy in the office of an elected member of any District Board so established,
is prescribed to be $45,000.

Nothing in this Order shall affect the maximum scale of election expenses in existence immediately before the relevant date in respect of any by-election, held before the date of the ordinary election referred to in section 2(a), to fill a vacancy in the office of an elected member of any District Board established under the Ordinance before the relevant date.
