Metrication Amendments (Education Regulations) Order

This Order may be cited as the Metrication Amendments (Education Regulations) Order.
Subject to paragraph 3, the use of non-metric units in documents submitted under the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A) after 31 March 1977 is prohibited.
Non-metric units shall continue to be used in documents submitted under the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A) until 1 January 1980 where such documents constitute amendments to, or otherwise relate to, documents submitted before 1 April 1977 in which non-metric units have been used, unless such last mentioned documents are resubmitted incorporating the use of metric units.
No document shall be submitted under the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A) containing references to both metric and non-metric units.
Without prejudice to the provisions of paragraph 2 or 3, but subject to paragraph 6 the provisions of the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A) specified in the first column of the Schedule are amended to the extent and in the manner set out in the second column thereof.
In respect of any premises which, on 1 April 1977, are registered or are the subject of an application to be registered as a school under the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A), or in relation to which, before 1 April 1977, documents have been submitted under regulation 3 of the Education Regulations (Cap. 279 sub. leg. A), the said regulations shall continue to apply as if they had not been amended by paragraph 5.
