Inspectors Powers Rules

Unless otherwise directed by the Council in a particular case, an inspector appointed for the purpose of section 8AA of the Ordinance who proposes to exercise the powers conferred under subsection (2)(b) of that section by requiring a solicitor, a foreign lawyer or an employee of a solicitor or foreign lawyer to produce or deliver to him for inspection any document, shall serve on the solicitor, foreign lawyer or employee, either personally or by post addressed to him at his last-known or most usual place of residence or business, a notice specifying in accordance with that provision the document to be so produced or delivered, and a time and place for the production or delivery.
Where a document required by an inspector to be produced or delivered exists otherwise than in a legible form, the inspector may require the production or delivery of a reproduction of the document or any part of it in a legible form and in a form in which it can be taken away.
