The maximum amount of election expenses that can be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate at an election held under section 6 of the Chief Executive Election Ordinance (Cap. 569) is— (L.N. 34 of 2016)
if the date of the poll at the election is before 27 March 2022—$15,700,000; or
if the date of the poll at the election is on or after 27 March 2022—$17,600,000.
