Motor Vehicles (First Registration Tax) Regulation

In this Regulation—
heavy goods vehicle (重型貨車) means a goods vehicle having a permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 24 tonnes but not exceeding 38 tonnes; medium goods vehicle (中型貨車) means a goods vehicle having a permitted gross vehicle weight exceeding 5.5 tonnes but not exceeding 24 tonnes.(Repealed L.N. 59 of 2003 and 22 of 2003 s. 14)
The classes of additions to a chassis or a cab and chassis of a locally assembled vehicle which are included for calculating the taxable value of the vehicle, and their value for calculating the taxable value, are specified in the Schedule.
A person claiming exclusion, from the taxable value of a locally assembled vehicle, of the value of specified additions added to the chassis or the cab and chassis of the vehicle by way of transfer of additions is required—
to submit documentary proof that the additions were included for calculating the taxable value of another locally assembled vehicle that has previously been taxed under the Ordinance;
to prove to the satisfaction of the Commissioner that the identification number of the additions corresponds with the identification number of the additions which are claimed to have been included for calculating the taxable value of another locally assembled vehicle that has previously been taxed under the Ordinance; and
to prove to the satisfaction of the Commissioner that the transferred additions were removed from a chassis or cab and chassis that was included for calculating the taxable value of the other locally assembled vehicle previously taxed under the Ordinance.
