Metrication Amendments (Dangerous Goods Ordinance) Order

This Order may be cited as the Metrication Amendments (Dangerous Goods Ordinance) Order.
Subject to paragraph 3, the use of non-metric units in documents submitted under the Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap. 295) on or after the commencement* of this Order is prohibited.
Non-metric units shall continue to be used in documents submitted under the Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap. 295) until 1 July 1983—
where such documents constitute amendments to, or otherwise relate to, other documents in which non-metric units have been used; and
where such other documents were submitted before the commencement* of this Order, unless such other documents were resubmitted incorporating the use of metric units in place of the non-metric units previously used.
No document shall be submitted under the Dangerous Goods Ordinance (Cap. 295) containing references to both metric and non-metric units.
Without prejudice to paragraph 2, 3 or 6, the enactments specified in the first column of the First Schedule are amended by deleting, wherever it occurs, the expression specified in the second column thereof opposite each such enactment and substituting in each place the expression specified in the third column thereof opposite each such enactment.
Without prejudice to paragraph 2, 3 or 6, the enactments specified in the first column of the Second Schedule are amended to the extent and in the manner set out in the second column thereof.
In respect of any premises or equipment which on the commencement* of this Order is included in any licence, permit or other authority granted under an enactment specified in the first column of the First Schedule or the first column of the Second Schedule, or in any application for such, the references specified in the second column of those Schedules shall continue to apply as if they had not been affected by this Order so long as the licence, permit or other authority in which it is or becomes included, or any renewal thereof, remains in force.
